Stefan is a chief research consultant in CSIRO working at the interface between science and technology and policy and strategy. His work helps decision makers in government, industry and community organisations explore plausible futures and make wise choices. Over the past 15 years he’s led a body of strategic foresight research at CSIRO involving scenario planning, megatrends analysis, risk analysis and decision support. Stefan is widely published in the peer-reviewed international research literature and his book “Global Megatrends” is a CSIRO Publishing best seller. His research expertise is in the fields of geography, economics, decision theory, management science and strategic foresight. He has a doctorate from the University of Queensland and post graduate diploma in economics from the University of New England. He has been a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Foresight Community and the OECD’s Government Foresight Community for over ten years. He is a fellow of the Queensland Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Global megatrends. For over a decade CSIRO has been tracking trends and megatrends that are reshaping our future. This presentation will provide a snapshot of the latest thinking from Australia’s national science agency. It will cover topics such as climate change, artificial intelligence, resource sustainability, supply chain disruptions, digitisation, health and well-being and changes in culture and demography. These megatrends will be described at the global level but tied to the South Australian economy and society. There will be a particular focus on digital technology, artificial intelligence and trends relevant to the information, communications and technology sector. So strap in for a whirlwind tour of the future that will help you think about how your world is changing and how you can get the future you want.

Shanelle created, produced, directed and presented Jam Live, which guaranteed viewers a front row spot to the most exclusive gigs, festivals and concert locations, in TV partnership with Channel 9 Adelaide and sponsorship from the Government of South Australia, Converse and SAE Creative Media Institute.

Adelaide Connected is an annual event having commenced in 2017 following similar joint events organised by the PMI Adelaide Chapter and IIBA Adelaide Branch in previous years. It has expanded to include many of the (global) Adelaide based industry and professional associations, who's members represent a brilliant cross section of disciplines, industries and organisations in South Australia. Jointly they plan and host the annual Adelaide Connected event, to bring together the widest possible group of their members with likeminded members of the public, for an evening of networking and inspiring speakers.
